What is APICS - Memphis?

Memphis APICS is a chapter of APICS - The Educational Society for Resource Management. Established over 20 years ago, Memphis APICS has earned a reputation in the business community as a provider of high quality education courses and networking programs. We have over 230 professionals in our chapter. Our members typically have backgrounds in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Inventory Management, Production Control and Scheduling, Customer Service, Strategic Business Planning, and ERP Implementation. Our members work for companies such as International Paper, Schering Plough, Federal Express, Thomas & Betts, Safamor Danek, Garner-Denver, Sharp, and many more.

How much does it cost to join APICS?

  • Member association dues are $150 for professional members. Professional members belonging to chapters and now associates will pay a fee of $50 for the chapter/associate portion, for a total dues amount of $200 for professional members. (If a chapter charges more, APICS will collect the additional amount on behalf of the chapter.)
  • The dues are $200 for domestic members-at-large (who do not belong to a chapter), and for international members-at-large (who are not members of an international associate).
  • The dues amount for retired members is $75, plus chapter dues if applicable. There are no changes to academic, student, and international associate fees.
  • The enterprise membership has a tiered structure. APICS offers enterprise members the opportunity to add additional members based on a sliding scale (illustration below). The current group membership structure will be phased out and current group members will transition to enterprise members as memberships come up for renewal.

When do we meet?

The chapter usually meets monthly September through May. Typically, we do not meet during the months of June, July, and August due to hectic summer schedules. Membership is not required to participate in any of our tours, classes, or programs. When is the next class?

Generally, two CPIM classes will be available in the Fall, two in the Winter, and two in the Spring of each year. All CPIM courses will be offered at least once every 12 months. Basics in Supply Chain Management will usually be offered twice every 12 months. CIRM and Fundamentals can be scheduled upon request. Each CPIM class costs $205 per person for members, and $225 per person for non-members ( we supply the workbook) and will meet 6 times. How do I get on the mailing list?

Simple! Send an email with your information to our Communication Director at communications@apics-memphis.org.  Membership in the chapter is not required.

How do I become a member?

Call APICS at 1-800-444-2742 to apply for membership or download a membership form from www.apics.org . Annual Individual membership costs $130, Corporate $800, and Student $20.

Memphis APICS serves the Mid South area, which includes Southwest Tennessee, North Mississippi, and Southeast Arkansas. There are chapters in Jackson, TN and Tupelo, MS.

Revenue is obtained by offering educational courses and from membership dues.

What is the APICS-Memphis refund policy ?

The cut-off date to receive a full refund for an event is one week prior to the event date or one week prior to the first date of a class.  Refunds given after this date will be based on out of pocket expenses incurred by the chapter up to that date.
